RMK Shipyard in Tuzla, Turkey completed the keel laying of an 8,000 m3 liquefied natural gas (LNG) river supply vessel, owned and operated by LNG Shipping; cooperation between Victrol and Sogestran. The vessel will be delivered to Shell in the second quarter of 2024, under a long-term charter contract, for operations in the ports of Zeebrugge, Antwerp, Rotterdam and Amsterdam (ARA).

Building on the success and experience gained from three years of safe and successful side-to-side bunkering operations with the LNG London - 3000m3 LNG bunker vessel for inland waterways, launched July 2019 - Shell and LNG Shipping are expanding their cooperation with the construction of this second larger capacity vessel.

Tahir Faruqui, Head of LNG Division at Shell, said "the new vessel expands Shell's portfolio of LNG bunkering assets in the ARA region, supporting our LNG expansion plans and collaboration within the industry. 'shipping industry to switch to low carbon fuels' . With this refueller LNG Shipping will strengthen its know-how in LNG bunkering and its technical expertise in LNG vapor management systems.

The RMK shipyard has been chosen to build the vessel, Gas& Heat will supply the tanks and the cargo operating system and MAN will supply the "pure-gas" engines.
