OOCL Recognised for its Outstanding Performance in Port State Control Inspection 

Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd. (OOCL) has received the “Outstanding Performance Award in Port State Control Inspection for the year of 2021” award from the Hong Kong Marine Department at the “Together We Set Sail” Award Presentation Ceremony held on 8 November 2022.

Port State Control (“PSC”) refers to the inspection conducted on foreign ships by a port state to verify whether the ships are in good condition, meeting all international standards and in compliance with all relevant regulations. Vessels with excellent PSC performance have demonstrated that they are well managed and operated safely, which status will result in fewer accidents. Presented by the Hong Kong Marine Department, the “Outstanding Performance Award in Port State Control Inspection” is recognition for Hong Kong flag ships that have performed outstandingly in port state control inspections, paying tribute to shipping and ship management companies for their excellent work in maintaining fleet quality and their contribution in upholding the reputation of the Hong Kong flag. 

OOCL is proud to be receiving this award for the fourth time. The PSC award is an important recognition of OOCL’s capabilities in managing an outstanding international fleet, demonstrating the company’s commitment to achieving high standards as a quality carrier.
