APM Terminals Pipavav & PRCL offer double stack rail service to Jodhpur on hub & spoke model
APM Terminals Pipavav in collaboration with PRCL, offers double stack rail service to Jodhpur via Sanand on a hub & spoke model. The service is managed by Pipavav Rail Corporation Ltd (PRCL), the joint venture between Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd and Indian Railways, the first such service by PRCL. Since it will be on hub & spoke model, the service will provide access to other Inland Container Depots (ICDs) in India. This is another milestone in the PRCL journey. PRCL became an active Rail operator by starting the first train from Port Pipavav to Jodhpur on electrified route in September 2021.
The hub & spoke arrangement via Sanand will ensure timely evacuation from the port in lesser dwell time there by swift movement of the cargoes for the customers. The initiative is likely to help the trade to connect with their markets quickly and competitively.
