Royal Greenland has announced their order of trawler no. 5 of ST-design
The 5th vessel is to be built by Astilleros Murueta in Spain and scheduled for delivery in Q1 – 2025. The new vessel will be similar to the 3rd vessel in the series, the "Nataarnaq".
The new vessel is of ST-119 design and will have a length of 82.3 m and a beam of 18 m. It will be arranged for a crew of 30 persons accommodated in single cabins. The vessel will have a freezer hold capacity of abt. 3000 m3. It will be built to a DNV class with heavy ice-class and outfitted for operation in Arctic waters. Significant efforts have been taken in order to improve environmental friendly systems and to optimize energy recovery onboard.
Previously Royal Greenland has taken delivery of 3 ST-designed trawler from Astilleros Murueta, this is the “Sisimiut” in 2019, the “Avataq” in 2020, the “Nataarnaq” in 2021. The fourth vessel “Tuugaalik” is scheduled for delivery early next year.
