The 174,000 cubic meter LNG carrier 'Wencheng' was named and delivered

news-details

On October 10, the 174,000-cubic-meter large-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier "Wencheng" independently invested by CSSC Leasing, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and designed and built by Hudong-Zhonghua, was named in Shanghai. On October 11, it was compared with the contract period. Signed and delivered three and a half months in advance.

This is the third large-scale LNG ship jointly named and delivered by both parties after the "Mulan" and "Guiying". It is also the latest achievement of CSSC Leasing in fully implementing the "ship leasing" and "investment and operation" "one body and two wings" strategies. Results.

The ship adopts the fourth-generation large LNG carrier design and construction technology independently developed and designed by Hudong-Zhonghua, and is equipped with the latest low-pressure dual-fuel main engine (X-DF), which has low energy consumption and good environmental performance. The ship has a total length of 295 meters, a molded width of 45 meters, a molded depth of 26.25 meters, and a speed of 19.5 knots. It is classified by British Register of Shipping (LR) and China Classification Society (CCS). Compared with the same generation of ships, this ship is specially equipped with a cryogenic device, which provides a wider oil and gas balance range for low-carbon voyages, and can adapt to the various needs for the balanced utilization of boil-off gas in different routes such as short-distance, medium-distance, and long-distance. The key to greatly improving operational efficiency is that it also fully meets the third stage standards of the Ship Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) and the latest environmental protection requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

"Wencheng" is the fourth LNG carrier completed and delivered by Hudong-Zhonghua this year. It plans to deliver two more ships before the end of the year, and is expected to set a record of six ships delivered throughout the year. During the construction process of the ship, Hudong-Zhonghua fully focused on key aspects such as "efficient dock loading, rapid terminal commissioning, and streamlined trial processes", strictly implemented the LNG ship construction strategy of "lean production to improve efficiency, and optimized management to enhance quality", and achieved It took more than 7 months to build the terminal, 6 months to complete the sea trial after undocking, 2 days of regular sea trials and 5 days of gas trials, and finally achieved the goal of delivery three and a half months ahead of schedule.

Since the beginning of this year, as a professional ship leasing company under China State Shipbuilding Corporation, CSSC Leasing has focused on innovating its cross-cyclical business model, actively seized the opportunities of the shipping market cycle, and continued to increase its investment in clean energy equipment and subdivided ship types with good market prospects. investment, properly respond to ship buybacks, and optimize asset allocation. At the same time, through joint investment, joint leasing and other business models, we have deepened cooperation with the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, effectively reducing the overall risk of new projects while increasing investment. This year, the company gave full play to its first-mover advantage in the LNG industry and signed a new contract for 2+2 large LNG carriers with a capacity of 175,000 cubic meters. The total orders for large LNG carriers reached 9+2 (including 4 independently invested, 5+2 ship joint investment).
